Cultural evening held
A cultural evening was held in Gurgaon at Kingdom of Dreams in Sector 29. The cultural evening was for the Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageant 2010. The pageant was organized in association with Jet Airways and 15 finalists were travelling in India. The finale will be in the end of July in Hong Kong.
The fifteen finalists visited Delhi and Gurgaon and the evening was organized to showcase Indian culture. The objective of this tour is to strengthen Indo-China cultural relations and promote Indian tourism.
An evening on environmental awareness
Gurgaon witnessed the second edition of 'The Green Gala' by Advit Foundation on June 19. The Green Gala was organized to increase awareness of a carbon neutral lifestyle to Gurgaon populace. The evening featured a collage of events - a movie screening, a play, a mime act and a musical performance. A movie directed by Sanjay Barnela featured some inspiring stories of people and communities who have harnessed nature's immense and constantly renewable capacity for electricity generation.
The mime act, presented by Raktarabi - a group working actively towards spreading social and environmental awareness, centred on "how to save our earth". The play by Aasma Theatre Group, showed glimpses of life without water in the year 2050. The musical performance by Ekam Satyam was the most enjoyable segment of the event. |
