Staircases fill energy throughout your home
 |
Staircase is very important in Feng Shui and Vastu because they represent the 'arteries or veins 'that carry energy throughout your home. The staircase should be well lit and free of obstructions. It connects Chi of various floors and helps free movement to every corner of the house or workplace. o The best location for stairs is in the south, south-west, west or north-west sector of the house. Avoid stairs in the north, north-east portion of the building and keeping in mind the turning should be in a clockwise direction while climbing up. o On emerging at the upper floor, the face should be towards the south or east. The number of risers should be odd number, so that if divided by 3, the balance is always 2. Therefore, stairs that have eleven, thirteen or seventeen steps are considered to be the best and most fortunate. o The staircase should not face the main door, the toilet door or a bedroom door nor should it be placed in the centre of the house. As the centre is known as the Brahmasthana - the seat of Brahma, who is the god associated with the origin of the universe and a symbol of creation. o Steps that lead down to the basements premises risk Ch'i energy lying dormant in the well formed by the descending steps and then becoming stagnant. When the door is opened, this stagnant chi energy can enter the premises. Bright lights, loud sounds such as bells or wind chimes, a brightly coloured door and plenty of plants will help to keep the chi energy fresh. —Raman Datta,Feng Shui & Vaastu Consultant, M: 09810155835 |
